Cinderella was extremely associated with what women should do and follow. It is stereotypical that women work at home rather than outside. Women are told that their priorities are to stay at home to cook, clean and take care of their children. Cinderella is described and has the characteristics of a stay-at-home mom. In Perrault's version, he writes: “He cleaned the dishes, tables, etc., and cleaned the lady's room and that of the young lady, his daughter” (70 Perrault). Cinderella worked at home and obeyed the orders of her stepmother and sister. Just as women were ordered around by men, so was Cinderella by them. Women were told that their job was to stay at home and take care of the children or clean the house. Cinderella played the role of a woman and this influences women and girls who have to follow him to get that happy ending they desire.
