First, an assessment of both the nurse and the client must be performed. The nurse must perform a self-assessment and compare it with those of the client. These people discuss their options and how to achieve the desired outcome. Once goals are established, a treatment plan is developed. The patient's religious beliefs and practices will be taken into consideration. Once the treatment plan is established, treatments and interventions are implemented that coincide with the patient's cultural beliefs. All teams will work together to ensure that the best care is provided in the way the customer desires, within reason.
