The idea of artificial intelligence has always been a very fascinating phenomenon in our society. It pioneered a new genre in the entertainment industry that brought to light ideas of human-like robots. In the acclaimed film, AI Artificial Intelligence, an intelligent artificial robot from the future named David, designed to experience love, is sent to a family to replace their comatose human son. As their comatose son recovers, the family no longer needs David. David, longing for the motherly love he has experienced, decides to become a "real" boy to make his human mother happy. These types of ideas raised many concerns that are debated to this day. This is known as the prodigious AI debate, which has yet to be resolved. Believers of a vision called “Strong Artificial Intelligence” believe that in the not too distant future the computing power of machines will be able to unequivocally match the brain power of the human brain. Proponents of “weak AI” believe that machines will only be able to simulate the intelligence of a human brain since they will never be truly aware of what they are doing. Unfortunately, Strong Artificial Intelligence cannot be considered possible since machines do not have the ability to imitate the human mind on a problem-by-problem basis, do not successfully have a state of consciousness, and are not capable of achieving a state of qualia. The following simple argument explains why Strong Artificial Intelligence is not possible:1. Strong AI ultimately occurs when qualities attributed to the human brain are demonstrated by machines. Machines are unable to completely imitate the human brain.3. Strong artificial intelligence is not possible. In 1950, young... middle of paper... seeing that only one neuron in the human brain processes input and output. This means that only one neuron does not understand Chinese, not the entire brain. Since the brain of a Chinese-speaking person understands Chinese as a whole, the entire system of which the English-speaking human is a part does not understand Chinese. To counter this argument, suppose that the English man's brain becomes the entire system, as it memorizes all the instructions. Now it is still sending the appropriate output based on the input, but it still has no understanding of the Chinese language. The idea of strong artificial intelligence has been a very intriguing concept that has interested many people in proposing their own ideas to understand the very possibility of this concept, which thus allows us to conclude that strong artificial intelligence does not appear to be a idea that it will exist.
