Books around the world have very different genres; some are about romance, some are about science, some are based on true events, and some are scary, suspenseful, and exciting. Something Wicked This Way Comes, by Ray Bradbury, describes two young boys who are afraid of nothing, not even a strange carnival that comes after midnight, so late in the year. They don't listen to anyone and go on an adventure to explore the mysterious carnival. Little do the kids know that the carnival isn't just an ordinary carnival, it's something much more evil. William Halloway and James Nightshade are neighbors in Green Town, Illinois. They will both be turning fourteen in about a week. After meeting a man who gave them a lightning rod, the boys decided to go to the library to visit Charles Halloway, Will's father. The three learn about the carnival that will come to town that night and open the next day.
