The World Health Organization defines health promotion as “the process of enabling people to increase control over their health and its determinants, and therefore to improve participants' health." Contemporary healthcare professionals such as nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors inform and demonstrate ways to care for yourself. The contemporary vision of health promotion is that of individual-led prevention assisted by health professionals. This new style of health promotion allows patients to engage in their health by adapting a lifestyle that changes the way they approach preventative healthcare. In the historical view of the head, psychological problems were not considered an important factor contributing to patients' illness, but contemporary health promotion is based on the foundation of psychological and emotional influence on individual well-being. Therefore, health promotion should be seen as a teamwork process between healthcare professionals and patients. Nurses should be educated and be able to converse with patients about their illness. Finally, health promotion requires the education of the public and the ability to altruistically engage in the well-being of patients. HIV/STD is a widespread pandemic affecting thousands of people in Europe, Africa and the United States. More than 15 million sexually transmitted diseases occur in the United States (CITE CDC). Doctors and various health workers have tried to prevent HIV/STD, but health workers have come to the conclusion that health promotion is the best way to defeat the pandemic with the help of patients. “The rates of treatable STDs in the United States, the highest in the developed world, are higher than in some developing countries. “(CDC) “STDs account for 87% of the...... half of the paper...... to promote health. Health promotion is not the absence of health, but an effort to prevent future health problems. These three articles highlight three different ways of promoting and preventing health. Health professionals should integrate different levels of health promotion to fully achieve the goal of educating the social public on various health issues.
