There are things in the wonderful world of Facebook that children should not be exposed to at a young age, and it can also become quite annoying for older people who they use Facebook the way it is intended to be used. Facebook was created by Mark Zuckerberg, a Harvard undergraduate who was interested in creating websites. He started by creating a website that allowed students to see what classes their friends were in, so they could see their friends in class and want to participate too. He later wanted to turn his idea into an even bigger website that would transform the world of social networking forever. He created a website that connected Harvard students to each other, which he called Thefacebook. Facebook quickly spread to all the universities and Zuckerberg couldn't even keep up with the spread and had to ask others for help to add all the different universities that wanted to be part of the social networking site. Facebook's sole purpose was for college kids to connect with each other; some would say it shouldn't even be for high school teenagers. Except when I was in high school, I found it very useful for connecting with my friends, especially since I went to school 45 minutes from my house. This is where I draw the line though, there is absolutely no need that anyone under the age of 15, which is the age most kids start high school, shouldn't be on Facebook. A sexual predator stalking your children is every parent's worst nightmare. , and scares the hell out of most of them. When parents learn that their children have signed up for a Facebook account, most of them immediately think about the safety of their children, who can see their profile. Facebook has come a long way with...... middle of paper......nities; I find that the negatives, such as child predators and bad exposure, completely outweigh the positives in this situation. In which I state that the right age to create a Facebook account should be 15 or starting high school. Works CitedCroal, N'Gai. Will Facebook be the next big gaming console? Newsweek.
