For this assignment I chose to demonstrate my knowledge of Aconite. In Muggle society Aconitum is also known as "The Queen of Poisons", the Blue Rocket, the Devil's Helmet, the Leopard's Bane, and the Bane of Women. In magical society Aconite is known as Monkshood or Wolfsbane. Aconite is a plant with magical and non-magical properties. Aconite has dark green leaves. The stem is crowned with large blue, purple, white, yellow or pink flowers. These herbaceous perennials grow in the wild, in forests and mountain ranges with moderate temperatures. .Aconite is a highly toxic plant; It acts above all on the nerve centers. If poisoned by Aconite, the following symptoms may occur: burning sensation on the tongue, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. The root contains 90% more poison than the leaves. Aconite is useful as an antidote against poisoning. Its root is analgesic, anodyne, antirheumatic, diaphoretic, diuretic, irritant and sedative.
