Although it does not generate much electricity at the moment, it brings Japan closer to energy security through the means of solar energy. Most of the country's electricity generation is collected through solar parks spread across Japan. They have gone so far as to build solar farms on abandoned golf courses and build floating solar farms on bodies of water to make effective use of space. One of the most notable solar projects currently includes the Solar Ark pictured below. This solar ark was a 315 meter wide and 37 meter high power generation facility that produced approximately 530,000 kWh from 5,000 panels. Advantages There are many advantages to solar energy and its use. These are just some of the recurring benefits that have been mentioned and are worth noting. • Since the sun will last for many more billions of years, solar energy is infinitely renewable. Solar energy provides a constant source of solar energy throughout the year for Japan. • These solar panels do not release carbon emissions like their counterparts that produce energy from coal and gas, so there is no pollution involved when solar energy is captured to create
