Topic > Ethical Selfishness In Malcolm X - 855

Malcolm Because of her father's civil rights activism, they always faced harassment from whites. In fact, Malcolm X had his first encounter with racism before he was even born. In my opinion, Malcolm X had a terrible life immediately after his father's death. His mother, however, was hospitalized in a psychiatric institution and Malcolm left home to live with family friends. He had lived a troubled youth because at school his (white) classmates treated him more like the class pet than a human being. The demotivational situation occurred continuously when he told his English teacher that he wanted to become a lawyer but the teacher responded like this: "One of the first needs of life is to be realistic... you have to think of something you can be... why not are you thinking about carpentry?". This humility prompted Malcolm to discontinue his studies because it made no sense for a black child to pursue an education. Here I learned that people should not discriminate against each other. We must treat people fairly. The strong racism demonstrated by blacks and whites made me rethink ethical selfishness whereby ethical selfishness is completely similar to racism. An ethical egoist actually believes that firefighters should not save those people because of the risks involved. White people don't have to help black people and vice versa. Racism will ruin the community because of zero cooperation and the hardest part is that riots happen and the ignorant are everywhere. Later, Malcolm From there he became… middle of paper… genuinely interested in achieving racial harmony. Even though he died tragically, I feel relieved that he dies in the name of Islam. There are many lessons we can learn from this book, the first thing is not to be biased and avoid being racist. Prophet Muhammad said: “All humanity comes from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab, nor does a non-Arab have any superiority over an Arab; furthermore a white has no superiority over a black, nor has a black any superiority.” above a white man, except with piety and good deed." Furthermore, we must keep in mind that a bad person is not necessarily a bad person forever. We should not discriminate and make hasty judgments as Malcolm said “Don't be in such a hurry to condemn a person because they don't do what you do or don't think as you think. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today”.
