The second young person observed was a woman in her 20s. He walked around picking up random objects. She looked a little confused in the cereal aisle as she looked from shelf to shelf. There was an associate right behind her who asked her if she needed help and she said a quick no thanks and turned away. He finally got something after a few more minutes of searching. She went to the self-checkout, avoiding any interaction with any cashier. According to Metro's observations, 100% of seniors were polite in conversations. The second subject observed, the oldest of all, demonstrated that over time he had built friendly relationships with some operators. Young people scored 0% in terms of politeness. Compared to older people, they seem to avoid conversations
