So far Target has stores located only in India. Target has stores primarily in major U.S. cities; however, the company should expand its operations to other countries to retain its American consumers and to attract new consumers. However, the company must ensure that it provides thorough research into the new country's economy, culture, and diversity. The company must create a new marketing strategy for branding and positioning its products to new consumers in other countries. It is important for Target to research the country's culture to identify its needs and wants and possibly prefer Target Corporation as a shopping destination. Secondly, the company must ensure that it identifies the differentiation and positioning of competitors' products to win over its consumers. “A successful marketing strategy depends on consumers clearly understanding who they are, what they need, what they like and why they buy.” (Ferrell, Hartline, 2014) Assessing and identifying the needs and wants of its consumers in other countries will help Target be more successful in marketing
