As an educator, it is important to understand and demonstrate the value of developing a successful curriculum. The goal of instructional design is to improve human performance and demonstrate subject matter expertise through instruction. . The most common system and adapted design model is ADDIE, which stands for analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. By successfully using this design model, the educator can ensure the best outcomes for their students and remain confident in knowing that the instruction being taught is relevant and meaningful to their students' educational background. The following text will describe the ADDIE system, starting with analysis. When an educator analyzes what they will create, it is important to ask questions such as “what do you want students to learn by the end of the unit?” This is one way the educator can structure the curriculum for students and incorporate it into teaching. When developing a curriculum the question “what problem is education the solution to?” one should ask (Gagne, 2005). This question is often ignored. The educator designing the curriculum should grasp the concept of needs assessment to successfully teach students. The needs assessment will address the gap between current circumstances and desired conditions. The assay may be present at different concentrations. To develop a successful course there are some questions that can help identify needs in determining instruction. Identifying the purpose the course serves in educating students and determining how important the course is to student success can aid in course analysis. Finding the quality... at the heart of the document... can allow the final stage to take place. Evaluation is the final phase of ADDIE design. Materials are evaluated along with processes, student reactions, student outcomes, and educational consequences. The objectives of the evaluation mimic many of the results originated in the analysis process. These findings include student goals and expectations. It is important to view the ADDIE model as a continuous circle with overlapping boundaries, rather than repeating steps or phases. Regardless of the technique or design used to create the instruction, it is critical that the educator and student have a successful and viable educational context. Using the ADDIE design, educators can ensure that students receive pertinent information that is relevant and contributes to their educational goals and needs.
