Talking about sex with your parents isn't the easiest thing to do, especially when the questions get a little personal. I found that talking about sex with my mother wasn't as terrible as I thought, but instead very informative. The questions that interested me were about sex education in my mother's time (70s-80s). This was an informative way to understand how sex education has improved or stayed the same over the years. The conversation began with a series of questions related to how my mother found out about sex. To begin, the first question asked was “How did you find out what sex was?” His response was very similar to how I was informed about sex too. Friends and media were an important part of society then, just as they are today. My mother's words were: “learn from hearing things in school and from people who just 'behave badly'”. I assumed he meant to have sex and experiment. It wasn't shocking to me to hear this, since this still happens today with people learning about sex through other people and experiences.
