Ottoman vs QingThe decline of the Ottoman and Qing empires both had commonalities in their fall such as corruption in government, weak armies and debt to Europeans, although the main reasons for the collapse of the empires it is similar in the same way that the problems developed are different. Although both the Qing and the Ottomans were in completely separate places, they both had government officials who abused their positions of power and brought down the economic standing of the empire as a whole. Ottoman rule reached its peak during the 16th century and remained in that era, as well as the Qing, the military advances that had occurred were not followed by these empires, rendering them completely defenseless in war. Finally, since the Ottomans and Qing had no way to protect themselves from the Europeans, the English and French gave them loans or crops that forced them into economic conflicts because they could not repay the money they borrowed. All these manipulations caused by their governments and European nations have led to the dissolution of two historic leaderships. The leaders of the nations are designated to manage the country in a form that allows all its aspects to function smoothly. The Ottomans and the Qing went through a power crisis; all officials took advantage of their titles. Both nations had a system of taxes levied by the leaders of each county or area of the nation. In the Ottoman Empire the Janissaries and some nobles collected taxes from the citizens over whom they had power, but those taxes collected were reserved for their own expenses instead of helping the country's debt and military progress.
