Story: On the morning of December 7, 1941 at 7:55 a.m. (Hawaiian time) the first of two waves of Japanese aircraft began their attack on the stationary U.S. Pacific Fleet docked at Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii. This first wave of 183 aircraft, launched from northern Oahu onto Japanese aircraft carriers, was an all-out attack by the fleet and military that did not specifically target a certain type of ship. Although a US radar base detected incoming planes in the north of the island, this station was in training mode and the beeps were thought to be the arrival of B-17 bombers. When the planes arrived, they used the element of surprise to their advantage. and the slow but effective torpedo bombers attacked the battleships from the west striking USS Helena, USS Utah, and USS Raleigh, all on the west side of Ford Island. From the east, torpedo bombers came in and hit USS California, USS Nevada, USS Oklahoma, and USS West Virginia located on the east side of Ford Island, while dive bombers attacked air bases such as Hickam Field, the largest, and Wheeler Field. , the main air base. While torpedo bombers were used in the first wave of attacks, additional bombs were dropped on the "Battle of Battleships" and on 90 ships anchored at Pearl Harbor the primary targets were the 8 battleships anchored there, including 7 anchored at Battleship Row. . The line of battleships stood along the southeastern shore of the island while the USS Pennsylvania lay in dry dock on the other side of the canal. Even after the first minutes of the attack, all battleships near Ford Island had suffered a bomb and/or torpedo hit from the Japanese. The USS West Virginia sank very quickly along with the USS Oklahoma, which actually turtled before it sank. The United States... in the center of the card... supplies the Soviet Union and Great Britain with weapons and supplies. Japanese Americans along the West Coast were then sent to internment camps for the remainder of the war. This attack brought together a divided nation, and signs of a war effort by the United States soon began. The United States was slowly moving closer to entering the war, but it was only with this attack that the opposition was crushed. Almost overnight there were response calls to remember Pearl Harbor/Remember December 7th. Historians generally say that the attack on Pearl Harbor doomed the Empire of Japan as it "awakened the sleeping giant," which led to the birth of the United States. industrial and military capacity which, once mobilised, would be capable of pouring enormous resources into both the Pacific and Atlantic battlefronts. This in turn was one of the factors that led to the victory of the allies.EmpathyBibliography
