What do you know about fraud? And how can you define it in general? According to Merriam-Webster, “fraud is the crime of using dishonest methods to steal something valuable from another person.” It's a very useful definition but it's too general. A scam has many activities to steal money and important documents. This is happening nowadays because fraud mainly involves technologies such as online shopping and e-banking. It's kind of a cheat by people, and it's hard to know that it's a cheat. This problem has caused many problems for individuals and society. This affected them in their financial situation. Whoever was rich due to fraud became poor. They lost their jobs and became homeless. They can't afford to pay their bills. It also affected psychological problems. These problems such as suicide, addiction and alcoholism. The people who have this problem wanted to do anything to forget that they were victims of fraud and they became poor and ruined. They protected themselves due to the lack of information about a fraud. A fraud has a process to work, it has many types and there are some tricks to avoid it; therefore the fraud needs to be further clarified. People don't have enough information about fraud. They have limited knowledge about it. Podgor, Ellen in her article “Criminal Fraud” talks about fraud specifically from a legal point of view and explained and defined it in this way. According to Podgor, Ellen (1999) defines a fraud as “the aspect of the fraud scheme measured according to a non-technical standard. It is a reflection of moral rectitude, fundamental honesty, fair play and right behavior in the general life and affairs of the members of society” (p.734). In other words, fraud appears to be… card systems… that improve identity confirmation solutions while protecting privacy. These steps recommend it to the government and department concerned with identity fraud. They should have helpful solutions to eliminate it because many people struggle with fraud of all kinds, it is not only in identity but the problem is becoming bigger every day due to lack of knowledge about this problem. In conclusion, some people do not think deeply about the definition of fraud. It has many definitions and types. However, they cannot solve the problem due to lack of use of technology and knowledge. I hope to find the solution soon and help people who are struggling with this problem. Some people and industries are experts in this problem. They must work together to find the solution quickly. Fraud is basically stealing specific things.
