In the same year Kroc also founded his own company as McDonald's Corporation. As with any business, Kroc endured many trials and tribulations starting his own businesses. One major update that occurred was to make the restaurants suitable for the Northern climate. Many updates had to be added to the company to ensure long-term stability for the company. A basement was installed to house heating, air conditioning and a ventilation system. Ventilation was very important because it would be responsible for producing warm air in winter and cool air in summer through the extractors. All the steps taken to improve the company have borne fruit today. McDonald's is considered among the top five fast food restaurants today and has become a staple in American food culture. Overall, as an organization, McDonald's suffers from widespread internal problems. Many of the issues range from offering the best value, to marketing, to customer service, to menu simplification, all of which have created difficulties for this company. The main problem among all these concerns that the company faces is in fact customer service: McDonald's is a global company that serves the hunger of millions of people every day. (Lutz 2013, Web
