“Live as if you were going to die in ten seconds.” ― Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 Paralyzed, she stared intently at every movement of the fluid dancers as they flew gracefully like swans across the stage. Kelly did not leave his seat until the final bow was taken and the curtain shrouded his own aspirations. As the piercing lights brought the audience back to reality, Kelly silently made her way through the crowd unnoticed, heading towards the back door. As he took a breath before stepping into the crisp air, he caught the attention of one of his models, a dancer. She remained mesmerized in place as the dancer gave her a quick smile and quickly disappeared. Kelly stepped into the outdoors with a sense of longing. He felt the need to belong on that stage. He felt the need to call the stage his home. Her dreams began as a young girl, an audience member always inspired by the Nutcracker dancers her parents dragged her to. Filling the car ride home with her enthusiasm, Kelly talked to her parents about her new dream of making it big as a dancer. She begged her parents to allow her just one lesson, just to test her talent. However, his parents, being world-renowned doctors, found no use in silly prancing around and therefore rejected Kelly's waste of time in such participation. Despite all his arguments, there was no room for discussion on such a “silly” topic. Therefore, Kelly was left to twirl around the house and choreograph her own solos with the help of online videos and TV shows. Most nights when her parents worked late, Kelly managed to convince her babysitter to take a walk around town. Kelly interpreted it as wanting a breath of fresh air, but secretly she liked taking a look at the ball... in the center of the card... nce. I wanted to follow my childhood dream. I'm sorry I went behind your back," Kelly stammered nervously. "You know what you did wasn't right. You went behind our backs and lied to our faces repeatedly. Kelly, what if something happened to you? We would never know where you were," Kelly's father fumed. "You betrayed our trust and your responsibility and it will take some time to prove it to you. After grounding you can go back to dancing, but until then you will have to do extra work and study.” Following her parents to the car, Kelly didn't worry too much about her grounding. Although she found herself in trouble, she felt that she had won in the end as she had finally chased her dreams. So, reluctantly, she got into the car just like she had done ten years ago, but this time she was satisfied that she had had the courage to make her dreams come true...
