An epic poem outlined by the Oxford English Dictionary states that it is a "long poem, usually derived from ancient oral customs, relating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the historical past of a rustic” The purpose of the poems is to know the time of antiquity during which an epic poem depicts many things and readers can derive many causes from Homer's Iliad, in which several things are found, derived from the compilation of twenty-four books, models the convention of writing an epic; Homer combines the usual by compiling two of the world's essentially most well-identified epics. Homer not only wrote two of the best epics, but also offered the right vision of the custom and of Greek civilization. The Iliad, especially conceived as a story of ten-year struggle, is falsely suitable and it is a story of simple final weeks of the battle in which Homer portrays Achilles, the human immortal and Agamemnon, the altruistic man using Achilles. .Homer's Iliad reveals totally different views on heroes, villains, and the battle itself. Although the book only remembers the last word in the weeks of battle, it teaches us an important lesson and reveals its true significance towards the end. The book conceived as a conflict, The Trojan War, speaks even more extensively about moral needs, what evil traits appear in the heroes of the story. The lesson learned from the Iliad is that Odysseus says to Achilles "The soldiers will die but the kings will probably be remembered" showing us a true lesson that the historical past is written by the victors. Homer begins with his death.. .... in the center of the card ...... announces that although warriors can fight, they will also live an existence of peace and friendship. The shield that Thetis convinces Hephaestus to create for Achilles is a great example of the best way Homer tries to convey to the reader that there is battle and peace. The shield had two cities, one peaceful and the other wartime. The mere fact that Homer spent five pages just describing the shield shows that he is emphasizing the fact that it is essential for readers to be able to see the warriors' choices. In the Iliad, Homer reveals that war brings out the perfect and the worst in people. Brings out the best in martial functionality, loyalty and love for family. It also highlights meanness, disloyalty and murder. Homer never results in a greater aspect than the alternative; simply try to present the guide objectively.
