Helen Keller is a woman who has done many wonderful things in her life. Many people think he is an amazing person. He taught people that no matter what is wrong with you, you can do anything you put your mind to. I think she was considered one of the most inspiring people in the world. Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880. She was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, which was a small, sleepy Southern town. Helen enjoyed living on her farm and having her horses, dogs and chickens. Helen loved living in such a small hometown. Helen's father, Captain Arthur Keller, was a newspaper editor and cotton planter. During the Civil War he served in the Confederate Army. His mother, Kate Keller, was born in the South and was related to John Adams. Helen loved her parents and had a great relationship with both of them. When Helen was nineteen months old she was struck by a severe fever. Doctors called it congestion of the brain and stomach. Suddenly the fever went away and she went blind. Helen was taking a bath when her mother put her hand in front of her face and she did not blink or move her eyes. He did this several times to see if he would blink but he never did. Helen's mother realized that her daughter had gone blind. Helen's mother and father noticed that she needed special help, so they decided it would be best to contact the Perkins Institute for the Blind in Boston. The director told them about Anne Sullivan. She was also blind, but the doctor saved her sight with surgery. Anne arrived on 3 March 1887 and immediately began working with Helen. Anne Sullivan had a very difficult childhood, just like Helen. She was born to an Irish immigrant... middle of paper... on October 20, 1936, at the age of 70. Helen was so sad to have lost the woman who had helped her all her life. Helen had a lot of difficulty getting over her loss. In 1957, Polly suffered a very serious stroke. Due to the stroke he suffered brain damage and could no longer be Helen's carer. Polly Thomas died in 1960 after 46 years with Helen. When Helen was eighty she became very weak. In 1961 he had a stroke and developed diabetes. At the age of 87, Helen died while at her home after having a sudden heart attack. Helen Keller is one of the most inspiring people ever. He did amazing things in his life and with the American Foundation for the Blind. He has achieved many things that most people have not achieved in their lives. Helen Keller is and will always be remembered for her great deeds.
