Topic > Never Rely on Others in "Stephen Crane's Open Boat"

Two years ago, I was accepted by the College of San Mateo. To come to America, I need to apply for visa and prepare many documents needed for visa interview. It's the first time I've done this kind of thing. At first I thought that my parents would help me do all the things as before, but then I discovered that they can't; because most of the documents are written in English, but my parents don't speak English at all. Then I tried to find an agent (the one who provides study abroad services) to help me fill out the entire application. However, when I called some agents, they all told me that there was not enough time to prepare all the documentation. To prepare for the visa, they need to fill out an online visa application, financial support documents such as bank statements, my parents' income certification and so on. I felt so desperate and even tried to give up several times. Then my parents suggested I try to do it myself. To my surprise, I finished all the work within a week. After that, everything went very well and I fulfilled my wish to come to the United States to study successfully. Thanks to this experience I believed more and more in myself. When I encounter difficulties I prefer to try to solve them myself rather than rely on others
