Giving me opportunities I once couldn't realize. Similar to McIntosh, known as “women are disadvantaged” (31) and society does not allow us to be seen as equal. However, my gender has allowed me to become aware of the boundaries I need to cross, so as not to be repressed in a gender-specific career. I recognize the value of having a choice and the benefits of having the freedom to express my opinion. Additionally, my gender has taught me to find my voice and stand up for those who are unable to. The artifacts contained in my invisible backpack allowed me to follow my dreams and become a teacher. For these reasons, I sympathize with those who have been overlooked in receiving the benefits that I have had
