While he was there, I had to go through my first two weeks of high school without the support of my parents. It was hard to handle the stress of being a ninth grader and going to a new school without them, but I think it made me more independent. After returning home, he was on crutches for a while until his first prosthesis was fitted. At first it was difficult for him to do everything on his own, so I had to help him a lot. I had to stay home most of the time to help him, but I didn't mind because I loved taking care of him. This experience made me realize that I wanted to pursue a nursing career. Now my father can work every day and even knows how to water ski! It feels like life is getting back to normal and my family is stronger than ever. It was very difficult to deal with my father's accident at first, but it changed me. During those two months, I transformed into a new person. While my father was in critical condition, no one expected him to survive and he has now made a full recovery. His experience taught me to never give up and that nothing is impossible. Furthermore, this incident has given me a new outlook on life. Now I believe everything happens for a reason.
