It was an interesting mix. My assumption was that the audience would be predominantly black. When I arrived late, I noticed a trickle of blacks arriving. I thought, “here we are, here we come in the moment of people of color.” The speaker who was our discussion leader did not reflect diversity. There was a moderator, a young black male. Bernie Hayes, an older black male and black female advocate who was a mix of Afro-centric and eclectic. The final speaker was a middle-aged artist while male. The discussion focused on topics such as code-switching, white flight and education
