Person: Victor Brown, grandson of Amalia Brown (9 March 1824 – 21 June 1893). An entrepreneur in many ways; he sought to improve the culture in which he lived and to leave a legacy that could be passed on to generations who would follow him. Introduction: Hello! I'm Vittorio! We are a close-knit family that relies on each other. We support each other through thick and thin, whatever their decision. I had one of the best uncles anyone could ever ask for. Amasa, Leland, Stanford was a great man in this country. He has made some wonderful improvements that have helped move the country forward towards a better society. I was fortunate to spend quality time with Uncle Leland, Aunt Jane, and my cousin Leland Jr. for many years of my life. We are still so proud of his successes and achievements for how they helped the country move into a new era. My Story: Many years ago, dating back to September 30, 1850, Jane became my aunt (although she was regarded as my aunt for many years prior) through marriage to my father's brother, Leland. They decided to move to Wisconsin so my uncle could start his own law firm. He was a great lawyer and had a lot of fun. About two years after launching his company, it suddenly caught fire and burned to the ground. At that time Uncle Leland knew that times would only get harder if he couldn't find work somewhere. A couple of weeks passed and Jane decided to move back home with her family to Albany, New York, while Uncle Leland came to California to stay with my family and help my father and their younger brother with the family store during the gold rush. a great opportunity for the whole family as a truly choice activity in the period when...... middle of paper......ar for students. In doing so, she created her own legacy and tradition to be remembered for. While many will remember my uncle as the man who created Stanford University, he represented so much more in his life. He saw a future in this country and continued to help make successful improvements that would leave the country amazed for many years. He made these improvements not just to the landmarks that will remain, but through the people. He demonstrated the work ethic needed to go from a comfortable living environment to one without a care in the world. He not only provided for himself, but also for his wife, his son and the rest of his family. Each generation of Stanford will forever be able to hold on to parts of history that are so captivating and powerful that they too will strive to make improvements in even the smallest ways.
