Moving forward it is important to constantly reflect on your interactions with other people. With the goal of seeing how my preferences affected conversations in ways they shouldn't. Additionally, I have to constantly remind myself that no matter how small the bias may be, it can still have an impact. My role as a healthcare professional is to do the best job I can. This means that my preferences or prejudices towards a particular group must be left at the door so that they do not influence the patient. Also, just because I haven't tested for skin color bias, this might exist. On the other hand, I need to know that patients may feel as if there is a bias against themselves. Today's world is full of stories where people talk about how they feel treated as inferior because of who they are. This is not fair to anyone and I need to make sure a patient feels respected especially when they come to visit
