Motivation is the main element towards success. Students, scientists, teachers and/or any individual who wants to achieve a goal must be motivated/ambitious. This motivation/ambition is what drives and keeps people going. This ambition can be oriented towards inventing/creating something, getting more money and/or being successful. People's ambitions are good, but sometimes they lead to negative consequences. These consequences establish the relationship between action and ambition. But no matter what the goal is, ambitious people will not stop until their goal is achieved. The ambition to achieve something is what motivates people. For example, Victor Frankenstein wanted to create a human being. As Mary Shelley writes in “Frankenstein,” Victor Frankenstein wanted to be “the first to break the ideal bonds of life and death” (231). His ambition was to create a human being and break these boundaries. But most of all, he wanted to be recognized as the first individual to do so. This recognition will make him famous forever. The only thing he thought about was breaking the boundaries of life and creating a human creature. Victor Frankenstein isn't the only person who had an ambition. Even people who aren't scientists have ambitions. Some ambitions might be to become very rich, get elected, get into a certain university, etc. These ambitions are very difficult to achieve. But if people really want to achieve their goal, they will not stop until it is achieved. For example, a politician who wants to get elected will do everything in his power to convince voters to vote for him. This may require him/her to spend a lot of money on the campaign. Another example is a student who wants to enter a certain university. This student will try…halfway through the paper…it should always lead him in the right direction, so that later in life there are no regrets. The actions will make him feel successful or unsuccessful. Victor Frankenstein said after achieving his ambition, “but now that I have finished, the beauty of the dream is gone, and breathless horror and disgust have filled my heart” (Shelley, 233). This is exactly how a person will feel if inappropriate actions are taken. People's ambition should always have positive results. WORKS CITED Bishop, J. Michael. "Enemies of the Promise."
