The most powerful aspect of this essay is not the essay itself (as you will see) but, rather, the fact that it was written by an American college student. Over many years, education has played an important role in improving our minds and society. However, what many people tend to forget is that our education is not the best it can be. Education is defined as receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially in a school or college. Many people today wonder whether or not our education depends on the people who teach it or whether it is the student's responsibility to want to learn. “To what extent do our schools serve the goals of a true education?” Education helps people learn new things, but it can be changed. While education helps students learn and plan for the future, it can be improved to help students earlier. On January 1, 1975, public law number 94-142 was The Education for All Handicapped Children Act. This law guaranteed the fundamental ideals, rights, and responsibilities to ensure equal access to public education for all disabled children. What education has done in the years that it has been around is simply to make life a considerably extended and confusing system of steps and processes. Our schools do not meet the goal of a true education, but they appear to be. It would seem that the goal of a real education is for someone to absorb attention, but it is not always right to fill the minds of adolescents with overlooked facts or the ways of the world decided by a committee. The way you gain attention for students is to give your own perception of things and have your own notion. From the Report of the Massachusetts Board of Education, Horace Mann states that “education, therefore, beyond all other instruments of human origin, is the great equalizer of the conditions of men, – the balance of the social machine.” He explains that the consequentiality of types of education, including political, moral, religious, perceptual, and physical, is fundamental to people and education. Education could be considered an ingredient of prosperity. Education empowers every aspect of the mind. When a teacher hands out a test and tells students to put their items away, students are inclined to do one last visual examination of their study papers. When the test is placed in front of a student, but when one or two go to answer the first question, they are paralyzed with apprehension.
