Based on our findings, performance evaluations can provide employees with feedback on their performance. XX Therefore, supervisors should evaluate their employees because through performance appraisal, the supervisor is able to measure the performance level of their employees and able to give them feedback for further improvement on their weak points because the supervisor has more experience in the daily process than employees. For example, through performance evaluation, the supervisor is able to know and point out the weak points of the employees and give them the opportunity to improve their weak points. Furthermore, the supervisor's position is higher than the employees, so he has the power authority which authorizes the top management to evaluate the performance of the employees. Supervisor is also known as first-line manager who guides, monitors and regulates the performance, attitudes, strengths and weaknesses of employees in their departments. Therefore, if the employees are not able to perform well in that department, the supervisor can evaluate them and determine their strength so that the supervisor can know which job is suitable for the employees and transfer them to that department. Furthermore, the supervisor may also has the responsibility to provide specific goals and objectives that should be achieved by the employees within the time period because the supervisor is a leader among all the employees in the department. Therefore, if the employee fails to complete the work responsibility set by the supervisor on time, the supervisor can record and evaluate his work skills. For example, the supervisor has the responsibility to clearly provide path and direction to employees and this can help them have b...... middle of paper ......ctives (MBO) in the company. Therefore, two-way communication and feedback are important because they help employees further improve their skills and weaknesses. Individual evaluation method such as checklist and weighted checklist is one of the methods used to evaluate employees individually by the supervisor. It is the simplest form, a set of objectives or descriptive statement frequently used to evaluate employee behavior. The weighted checklist is a variation of the checklist used to evaluate effective and ineffective employee behavior at work. The evaluation score of the checklist will help the supervisor to evaluate the employee's performance and rank the employees from excellent to poor following the ranking. However, this method is similar to the critical incident technique which is expensive and time consuming.
