Clara Barton was born on Christmas Day 1821 in Oxford, Massachusetts. She was the youngest of her 4 siblings by at least 10 years. Raised in a middle-class family, Clara was home-schooled until she was 15, then became a teacher. As a child, Clara enjoyed caring for sick and injured pets and neighborhood pets in her free time. When he was 11 his brother David became seriously ill. So he kept his brother aside for two years. He began to learn about medicine this way. He opened a free school in New Jersey for children who have health problems. But since she was not a man she could not be the principal of the school. Clara was so unhappy that she stopped teaching. She later found work as a clerk in the United States Patent Office. Then she quit her job as a clerk and became a volunteer for soldiers in the Civil War. First, Clara completed the task of starting a relief program for wounded soldiers. Clara was subsequently informed of the shortage of medical supplies and quickly organized a donation. When did he arrive? Cornfield? he wasted no time before acting as medical personnel and distributing his supplies to the surgeons. After the Battle of Cedar Mountain, he showed up at a field hospital at night with a four-mule load of supplies. He saved hundreds of soldiers on the battlefield that day. That's why she was known as the "Angel of the Battlefield." In 1864 Clara obtained the position of Union nurse superintendent. However he had some health problems. His problem was that he suffered from very tireless work. she was suffering because she had done many things that tired her, so her doctor sent her on vacation while there she read a very famous book called "A Memory of Solferino" by Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross Movement. The Movement is committed to the protection of the sick and wounded during war.
