Once upon a time there was a beautiful young maiden who possessed prodigious magical abilities. Although the Maiden's relatives died before she was able to speak or walk, she lived a rich life with many servants and surplus gold, and was highly praised by the inhabitants of the kingdom under her manor. for a resplendent young woman she was adored by every man whose eyes beheld her, for she possessed flawless beauty, surpassing that of most who walk the earth. Although the Maiden appeared perfect and flawless, she was not so blessed in behavior, for although she was a woman of bewitching beauty, within herself she was also superficial, selfish and cruel. When the Maidens came of age, she was bombarded with favors from her many admirers; everyone she avoided. As beautiful as she was, the Maiden felt she could afford to be meticulous and particular in her choice of mate. As the men lined up in front of her she shouted: “Too fat, too thin, too poor, too elegant! Remove these vile idiots from my sight! Is there no man in this kingdom worthy of my impeccable beauty and intellect?!” And as the years passed, those closest to the Maiden began to wonder if such a man really existed. Until one spring morning, just as the Maiden had almost given up hope of finding a mate, a man entered the kingdom who would change her life forever. The Maiden was out on her daily walk, when a handsome knight pulled her out of the path of a rogue carriage, saving her life. The Maiden fell in love with the Knight at first sight, convinced that she had finally found a man worthy of her love. But the knight had heard of the girl's cruelty and had no interest in courting her. “Beautiful girl. Your beauty......middle of paper......traces of being left in her now limp and lifeless body. The Maiden tried to revive the Knight, but it was of no use. She cried tears of despair and pain because she had been disappointed by his appearance, his magic and his wealth. The Maiden announced the Knight's death to the people of the kingdom. Even though he avoided all condolences and attempts to calm her down. Because she blamed herself for the Knight's death. As time passed, the Girl's pain did not diminish, it became stronger until it consumed every ounce of her being. Until he couldn't take it anymore. The Maiden locked herself away and declared: "Never again will a man be prey to my beauty or my ruthless ways!" Buried in an impenetrable tower, the girl lived the rest of her days alone. When Death came for her, the girl left willingly. Happy that she would no longer feel the pain that her superficiality and vanity had caused her.
