Hitler's hatred of Jews is legendary. Anyone in America you talk to will know who Hitler is, if not his entire life story. What comes to mind when you think of Hitler is how he killed over 10 million people during the Holocaust in the death camps. Most people don't stop to think about why Hitler hated Jews or how he became that way. Hitler went through many difficulties during his childhood and the First World War which triggered his hatred for the Jews. On April 20, 1889 at 6.30 pm little Adolf Hitler took his first breath. He was born to Alois and Kara Hitler. Alois was a civil servant and Kara stayed at home. In 1895 Adolfo stayed for six months in front of a Benedictine monastery. The monastery's coat of arms was the swastika, which Hitler eventually adopted as the Nazi sign (The Childhood of Adolf Hitler). The monastery intrigued and influenced his desire to become a priest. When Hitler started secondary school in 1900 he wanted to become an artist, but his father wanted him to become a civil servant (Reams). In 1903 Hitler's father died of a pleural hemorrhage eliminating the pressure to become a civil servant (The Childhood of Adolf Hitler). He left school at the age of sixteen and moved to Vienna in 1906. He lived on his father's inheritance and an orphan's pension, but by 1909 he was broke. He wandered around Vienna as a homeless man, sleeping in a new place every night (Adolf Hitler's Childhood). It was around this time that he began to harbor his hatred for the Jews. Surprisingly enough, two of his best friends were Jewish and he was jealous of Jewish art dealers and artists (Reams). Hitler's childhood is crucial to understanding why he was such a hateful man in adulthood. After Hitler's devastating childhood, he decided to join the war effort. Oddly enough, Hitler was... middle of paper... until 1945 the holocaust continued. After 1945 the Hitler Plain declined. It was losing the war and its death camps were being liberated. He decided to end his life with his new wife Eva Braun. They both took cyanide pills, then Hitler shot himself in the right temple (Adolf Hitler the Holocaust). Thus ended Hitler's reign. No one knows for sure why Hitler hated Jews, but it's a good guess to say that World War I and his childhood made him the way he was during World War II. Hitler will always be considered evil, mentally unstable and racist, but I think he could have turned out to be a great person if he had been born into different circumstances. He had the qualities to be an army general or president of the United States! I'm not saying Hitler was a good guy, but I think anyone could have become like him if we had to walk a mile in his shoes.
