Creative Activities I was a little hesitant to take this course because I don't consider myself creative. However, I enjoyed taking this course and learned so much and discovered that I can be creative if I put my mind to it. I thought creative meant you had to be able to draw, paint and have an eye for art. I also felt that these skills needed to be performed perfectly because they would be more attractive to others. That wasn't the case in this course, I learned that art should be open. This is the best way for children to learn. Children should be exposed to the materials and not limited. They should be able to create what they want instead of something adult oriented. This is news to me because I thought parents would enjoy putting together projects perfectly because they would be able to identify what the kids were doing and learning. However, they need to be educated about open art through a newsletter or brochure. Explaining that we are moving away from traditional art but from the art of children's centers, where children's artwork is original because they use their own talent....
