There are many aid projects around the world that claim to help millions of people, but because these aid projects claim to help millions of people, this does not always mean that this is the case. There are many different types of aid projects and there can be aid for almost anything an area needs help with. An aid project that not many people know about is called Project Polaris. After learning about the story of six South Korean women forced to work in a brothel, Katherine Chon and Derek Ellerman were inspired to do something about modern slavery ("Katherine Chon and Derek Ellerman: Fighting Human Trafficking" 3). -forward 13 years and the Polaris Project is the leading non-profit humanitarian organization in the country in the country or its willingness to engage in sexual acts. Human trafficking can affect men, women and children; however, it primarily affects women age 18 and older (“Sex Trafficking in the United States” 1). be brought into this organization to observe whether Project Polaris is working effectively in what the organization claims to do. Human trafficking is a growing problem that is appearing in our own backyards. The Polaris Project is committed to combating this problem of human trafficking; therefore, Polaris Project has many programs that help fight human trafficking in interesting ways. There are two Polaris Project Industry Offices, located in the Washington, DC and New Jersey area.
