Topic > Has technology changed our lives for better or worse?

What about technology? Every day I have to press a small button on a small remote control so that the gate at home opens by itself. Nowadays it seems normal, but twelve years ago I had to get out of the car to open the gate myself. I'm 20 now and over the years I've seen technology flash through my eyes. When I was in primary school I played in the sand, rode my bike or made my own games. Internet, smartphone, Facebook and Google were words that didn't appear in my vocabulary until a few years ago. Even tablets were just medicines and not a computing device that resembled a small flat screen. Technology is becoming modern day by day. People are always connected to something to do with technology, such as the Internet, social media, television or smartphones. Nowadays it is very difficult to imagine life without technology. But does technology make life more convenient? Or was life better when it was simpler? In this essay I will answer these two questions about technology. Firstly, children born in the twentieth century have the opportunity to do homework with the help of the Internet. My parents, for example, didn't have the ability to surf the Internet when they were at school. All the information they had to gather for their projects was just what they had read from a book or by doing numerous face-to-face interviews with people. Generation Y can use the Internet such as Google for research and even You Tube to watch a documentary for biology class. Best of all, all the things we don't know easily can be searched on the unlimited network. When you type what you're looking for... middle of paper...... phones and video games. In conclusion, modern technology makes our life more convenient. It has advantages and disadvantages, but there are many more advantages. It's up to us to know what we use technology for, what kind of life we want to live, and how to educate our children about technology. Technology simplifies children's schoolwork through unlimited networking. People don't need to travel too often for work, but business can be done via Skype, and the most important thing is that everything we don't know easily can also be learned from the Internet. Technology is developing rapidly and there is no turning back the clock. Probably a tip for parents, since they are "the future": try to involve your children in face-to-face socialization with people, reading books more often and going out and exploring nature with friends and family..
