In reality, Moore showed us these two students to draw our attention to an audience that had sufficient knowledge about how people with suicidal thoughts react. I think Moore also wanted to show the facts about the huge tragedy that Bowling for Columbine High School experienced, and he even gave his film a clip from the video of the shooting and how horrible the situation was for the students and they watched
