Topic > Going Gaseous: A Biblical Look at Climate Change

As a member of the National Rural Electric Company, I'm presenting to you the idea of eliminating carbon dioxide limitations is not the brightest decision. It will change the world as we know it. Extreme and record-breaking weather events have been discussed in recent years, including scorching summers, superstorms, wildfires and declining polar ice caps, along with ocean acidification. In Missouri this winter we've seen more snow, extreme freezing temperatures and then 60 degrees the next day, only for it to start all over again. Who or what is responsible for these record-breaking events and climate changes? Scientists like Richard Heede would like to convince you to believe that, through his research in Tracking Anthropogenic Carbon Dioxide and Methane Emissions to Fossil Fuel and Cement Producers (Greenhouse Gas Producers), cumulative emissions dating back to the Industrial Revolution are all to blame. If you read his research, you will find the word “estimate” or “estimated” used everywhere when referring to emissions. Exactly why are global warming advocates so concerned about fossil fuel consumption and CO2 emissions? We must keep in mind that most supporters of global warming are evolutionists who do not believe in creationism. God has provided much more than a lack of creation care concepts in the Bible as an explanation for global warming. While the Bible does not use the term “global warming,” it does provide a framework for evaluating claims about global warming. In Genesis 1:1 we are told that God created the heavens and the earth, at which point the atmosphere could have been created, but surely on the second day the atmosphere was created when he separated the water that was under the expanse from… middle of the paper… through the roof due to the passing of unnecessary regulations. The new rules will force many coal plants to close, leaving hundreds unemployed. Coal is our largest source of electricity. It has been used as a very important energy source since the Industrial Revolution of the 1800s. In Missouri we depend on coal for more than 60% of our electricity. In conclusion, there is no valid biblical or scientific justification for limiting carbon dioxide emissions. Based on this, there is absolutely no need to spend millions of dollars to limit something that God created and something that He deemed necessary for the survival of plant life and humanity. We as a nation are also in debt and spending more money we don't have is not the best idea. We have also been using coal to produce electricity for over 200 years; it worked so long why not continue using it.
