Words travel fast on social media; if something newsworthy happens, you can bet it will be captured and immediately posted on social media and then brought to the attention of millions of people around the world. Injustices often occur globally when tragedies occur. A recent local example would be the Orlando nightclub shooting. People from all over the world have sent their condolences to the city of Orlando and the families of the victims; not a single soul remained unrecognized and their names were aired publicly on every media platform. Events like this bring people together as a community and together as a community we grow from that. Another example would be all the police brutality that was/still happens every day. All the ongoing shootings have given rise to a hashtag titled #BlackLivesMatter.
